FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Augusta, Ga. – ‘ People and Issues with Helen ,' with host Helen Blocker-Adams, and 1230 AM WNRR will host a live radio candidates' Forum on Tuesday, May 22 nd and Wednesday, May 23 rd 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. at Le Chat Noir, 304 8 th Street (corner of Ellis and 8 th Streets) in downtown Augusta. The Forums are being held for the 10 th Congressional District race candidates who are vying for Congressman Charlie Norwood's seat who died of lung cancer in late February.

Democratic candidates Evita Paschal and Denise Freeman and Libertarian Jim Sendelbach will participate in Tuesday's Forum. Candidate James Marlow did not respond to the request. Augusta Chronicle Editorial Page Editor Michael Ryan and News 12 Reporter Jonathan Martin will moderate Tuesdays' Forum.

Republican candidates Dr. Paul Broun, Jr., Erik M. Underwood, Mark Myers, Bill Greene and Nate Pulliam will participate in Wednesday's Forum. Candidate Jim Whitehead had previous scheduled obligations in North Georgia and will be unable to attend. Augusta Chronicle Editorial Page Editor Michael Ryan and Hola Newspaper Publisher Anibal Iberra will moderate Tuesday's Forum.

Dr. Alan Keyes, Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N.'s Economic and Social Council under Ronald Reagan, conservative author, public speaker, former syndicated radio talk show host and two-time Presidential hopeful, will accompany Bill Greene on Wednesday.

Each candidate will have three minute opening and two minute closing remarks. Questions will be posed by the Moderators and if time permits the audience will be allowed to ask questions.

With less than thirty days left before the June 19 th Special Election, this Forum will allow constituents of the 10 th Congressional District to meet and hear the candidates and their views on issues such as illegal immigrants, healthcare, education, social security and the War on Iraq.
